Seiko 0634-5019 "Issac Hayes", Seiko's first-gen LC Quartz chronograph! CHUNK O FUNK!
This is the “Isaac Hayes” Seiko 0634 chronograph. An amazing and expensive piece in its day - more costly than a Rolex.
Beautifully made - solid stainless steel with PVD accents. A crazy piece of super 70s tech.
The 0634 was one of Seiko’s first LC quartz chronographs. They invented this technology, and these were a world first.
This particular example shows wear, but no abuse. Bracelet is full-length.
The only issue is that the second digit on the display will not display “5”. It shows 5 as “9”. This is an issue with the internal circuitry of the LCD panel and is not fixable. I have gone all through this movement numerous times to try to fix this without any success. I do have other panels that are fully functional BUT they all have serious cosmetic issues - rainbows, faded display, bleeds. This is the best of all worlds.
All features work - light, chronograph, stop/start etc.
