Seiko 4006-7011 27j Bell-Matic, fully serviced. June 1970. Insomnia Watch 4!

$1,200.00

This is a fully restored example of the 27-jewel JDM 4006-7011 Bell-Matic. These were a serious “Salaryman” watch in their day, with the Bell-Matics generally being at the top of Seiko’s line at that time. longer lugs as well, so it has some real added elegance and wrist presence.

These have the movement 4006A, the first-gen 27j made for the Japanese Domestic Market. This particular watch I restored as part of my “Insomnia Watch” series:

Part 2: https://youtu.be/Cg0bKr-vMEw

  • Complete, original, serviced as seen on my youtube channel

  • Watch is original in every way cosmetically - polish, case lines, etc.

  • Movement fully serviced - full strip-down & cleaning, inspection of every part, repair of lower mainspring arbor port with a jewel. Timed, adjusted, tested. Excellent amplitude in the 280s / 290s with zero beat error and flat accuracy in multiple positions.

  • 27j movement upgraded with a new lower mainspring arbor jewel - so now a 28j with jewels top and bottom on the mainspring arbor.

  • Manual alarm works just as it should.

  • Automatic only - crown winds up the alarm mainspring.

  • Crystal is brand-new, new-old-stock

  • Dial is really super nice. No flaws that I can see.

  • Dial and hands are non-lumed, as is correct and original.

  • Hands are NOS Seiko JDM black-stripe dauphin ones, never used, installed for the first time on this watch.

  • Caseback is nicely clean - as with the case, shows wear, but no abuse. Text is totally clear and undamaged. No tool marks.

  • Bracelet is the correct high-quality JDM type. I have added a long Stelux-made clasp and an extender to make it wearable with my 7.5” wrist.
