Seiko 6309-7049, Feb '81, an original working watch, a Carribean survivor

$725.00

This is an original freshly-restored Seiko 6309-7049. This watch came to me many years ago in a batch of watches from a dive shop in the Dominican Republic. It has a Spanish / English daywheel. Caseback date is Feb 1981. Dial is undated, which happened towards the switch-over between Suwa and non-Suwa.

Fully and freshly serviced, with the lower mainspring arbor port upgraded with a jewel.

  • Feb 1981

  • All original lume on the dial and pip - handset is NOS genuine Seiko

  • Unforced patina in every regard

  • Lovely puffy original dial lume markers

  • Dial text has some losses on the SEIKO and 150m portions.

  • Resist text is faded.

  • Handset is genuine NOS Seiko, and as a result glows.

  • Movement has the lower mainspring arbor port jeweled.

  • Case fully cleaned & serviced - all new gaskets

  • New KVW 320W34GA00 crystal

  • Crown tube threads are perfect and undamaged, ditto for the crown.

  • Case shows wear, with signs of an active life, but no abuse or serious dinks.

  • Insert shows nice character.

  • Insert pip is present and original.

  • Bezel action is smooth and clicky.

  • Watch comes head only, but I recommend Uncle Seiko’s GL831 recreation
